| One of my objectives is to link the ethno botanic, the religion and the art in our country with other cultures, but this would be impossible but has existed the emigration process.
The migratory processes have always brought changes, even of thought and conceptions. In fact Roberto's work dialogues with the concepts of identity, religion, cubanía starting from performances that the artist carries out keeping in mind as main elements the car recognition and the being's car representation. The nature is used as mechanism of protection of the human body so much physical as spiritual. This artist conjugates the importance of the cultural roots of a town with the concept of conservation of the identity. This work is a symbolic small representation that leaves of the personal experience and that he/she wants to serve like "cure" or "therapy", because we all are part of this emigration, in an or another way.
Uno de mis objetivos es vincular la etnobotánica, la religión y el arte en nuestro país con otras culturas, pero esto sería imposible sino hubiese existido el proceso de emigración.
Los procesos migratorios siempre han traído cambios, incluso de pensamiento y concepciones. Precisamente toda la obra de Roberto Martínez dialoga con los conceptos de identidad, religión, cubanía a partir de performances que el artista realiza teniendo en cuenta como elementos principales el auto reconocimiento y la auto representación del ser. La naturaleza es utilizada como mecanismo de protección del cuerpo humano tanto físico como espiritual. Este artista conjuga la importancia de las raíces culturales de un pueblo con el concepto de conservación de la identidad. Este trabajo es una pequeña representación simbólica que parte de la experiencia personal y que quiere servir como “cura” o “terapia”, porque todos formamos parte de esta emigración, de una u otra forma.
